I got into this university simply for being honest and being myself. I also had the grades and the recommendations to go with it. Those SAT scores at GMU aren't nearly as important as the grades and the essay.

Basically work your butt off. Don't retake classes to get better grades--they actually look down on it if you did that and couldn't succeed the first time around. Disregard everything people say about transfer students not getting in. I transferred to GMU a year before applying to the program to finish some pre-reqs, and communicated closely that entire year with an advisor in the BSN program (which probably helped), and was accepted. I padded my application with a personal essay and two letters of recommendation (which apparently are required now to apply). If you have the opportunity to work in healthcare before applying, DO IT. Be a clinical tech, phlebotomist, whatever, because they love it when your application says you have experience in the field.
